This swish is made from artificial grass. If swished rapidly over bare flesh it gives a similar sensation to being stung by stinging nettles but without leaving the irritating rash. |
You will need 4-5 stems of artificial Long Grass, a roll of florist's pot tape and a bottle lid. The grass can be bought in various shades of green. The one used here is olive green. Start by taking each stem of grass apart into its individual pieces. Don't throw away the bare stem as you will need 3" of it to form the centre of the swish. |
Attach the end of the tape to the 3" piece of stem wire then lay the first piece of grass along the tape. Start to wind it around the wire. Once the first piece is wound into place go around with the tape once more to secure it. |
Repeat this process with the second piece of grass. Continue in this way until all the grass pieces are attached. Find a bottle lid that fits exactly over the taped end of the swish. Cover the lid with the pot tape and put it in place at the end of the swish. |
Locate the position, 3" down the swish, where the end of the wire stem can be felt and wrap the tape around the swish at this point. Keeping the tape tight, continue wrapping evenly up the swish to the bottle lid. Use the tape to attach the lid into place. |
