Water Torture
In the water torture, water was poured down the throat of the accused, along with a soft cloth that caused choking. The cloth was pulled out quickly so that the entrails would be torn.
"Down the throats of some they violently thrust knotted clouts, and then
with a string pulled them up again, whereby they displaced their bowels."—Clarke (1651).
