you need : a piece of suede, leather or neoprene rubber couple of metres of cord 6" length of threaded rod small wooden ball I used 1" wooden dolls heads from Hobbycraft™ also: some glue suitable for glueing leather a needle and thread |
| Cut the fabric so that it measures 22cm across and 18cm down. Mark out the strands at 1cm intervals leaving a 3cm border at the top. Neatly cut along the strand lines |
|
| Drill a couple of holes through the end of the threaded rod so that the suede and cord can be stitched into place. |
|
Spread the glue along the border. Tightly and neatly roll the flogger. Whip the cord around the rod. This must be done tightly, keeping the cord under tension at all times and making sure that each turn of the cord sits flush to the last one. This will stop the cord from opening up and starting to slip about after freqquent use. Use a dab of glue to hold the cord to itself at the end of the handle. |

Drill out the hole in the wooden ball so it is a better match for the handle, and screw it into place. Try to catch the end of the cord into the wooden ball as well for a more secure finsh. |
